Portsmouth Hospital University Microbiology Laboratory serves Portsmouth and East Hampshire and supports the Regional Wessex and Dorchester Renal Transplant Service, Falklands Microbiology service and Military colleagues.
Supports the Regional training of Specialist Registrars and Clinical Scientists.
Offering and FMT service for recurrent c. difficile infection. Providing a range of serological and molecular qualitative and quantitative diagnostic assays with strong links with Hepatology, Sexual Health and HIV, IDPS Antenatal Screening, NICU, Paediatrics, Renal Transplant, ITU, Infection Prevention and Control.
