About:

Micropathology Ltd was created in 1995 by Dr. David Burnett and Professor Colin Fink as an independent company specialising in rapid diagnosis and research relating to infectious disease and host responses to infection. Originally located in the University of Birmingham, Institute of Research and Development, the company moved to its current location on the University of Warwick Science Park in 1999.

Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation
In 2003 the company was awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation.
Currently, the company laboratory plays a major role in the UK transplant population surveillance for infection, serving the NHS through tertiary and specialist referral centres and supplying acute infectious disease diagnoses for NHS hospitals across the UK.

Our research staff maintain a close association with academic colleagues and a programme of applied research continues. This collaboration creates research projects with a number of university departments.

Diagnostics.ai helps laboratories to automate their in-house qPCR testing by providing automated data interpretation and proactive monitoring services. Based on advanced machine learning techniques it replicates the laboratory’s SOP and works with files from all major thermocyclers. Using our system can help save money, cut interpretation time by 90%, reduce repeat runs and ease adherence to ISO15189.
