The laboratory offers an “out of hours” service for advice and the investigation of urgent specimens. This ensures a continuity of service with testing available 365 days a year on a 24-hour basis when necessary. Requests for investigation must be approved by the NVRL On Call Clinician. The on-call service can be accessed outside normal hours by contacting the call back service on 01-716-4050.
The results will be telephoned to the requesting doctor. To ensure immediate transmission of results, the request form accompanying the specimen must indicate the requesting doctor’s name and bleep no./ phone no/ mobile no.
